Where and when
ACE Casino Blackfoot is at 4040 Blackfoot Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2G 4E6, the address on the casino's current official site. An older ACE page gives 1010 42 Ave SE for the same property, so either address may appear in a map search.
The venue describes itself as "Alberta's longest living casino." Its published hours are:
| Days | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. |
| Weekend | Open 24 hours, from Friday 9 a.m. until Sunday 3 a.m. |
The same site's footer also shows 9:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. For a weekday morning visit, 9:30 a.m. is the safer arrival time. Sunday hours after the overnight weekend run ends, and separate hours for live table games, are best confirmed on the official site before you set out.
Getting in
Entry is for adults only. The legal gambling age in Alberta is 18. Under AGLC rules, casino staff must check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. Staff refuse entry to anyone who cannot show they are 18 or older.
Bring a valid photo ID such as a driver's licence or passport. The venue does not publish a dress code in the sources this guide used.
On the floor
The casino's own pages describe:
- a slot floor with video lottery terminals
- live table games
- electronic table games played on private terminals with a realistic dealer
Machine counts differ across the venue's own pages, so this note leaves them out.
A poker room is not confirmed. The 24-hour poker room listed on the wider ACE site appears to belong to the sister property near the airport. See the ACE Casino Airport note for that venue.
Loyalty. Winner's Edge is AGLC's player rewards program for Alberta casinos.
- Joining is free. Sign up online, at a kiosk or at Guest Services.
- Pick up the card at Guest Services by showing government ID.
- Points are earned on slot machines and electronic table games.
- Members receive 10 per cent off select food and non-alcoholic drinks.
- People enrolled in self-exclusion are not eligible.
A separate ACE club website exists, but its program details were not confirmed.
Food and extras
Two outlets are listed on the official site:
- The Kitchen, a quick-service casual restaurant, open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Center Bar, with sports on TV, open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Because The Kitchen opens with the doors, a breakfast or early lunch fits easily into a weekday morning visit. Menus and prices are published by the venue.
No live entertainment programme or on-site hotel was found for this property.
Getting there
By car. The guide's records note ample free parking on site.
Without a car. The venue says it is easily accessible by public transit but does not name a stop, station or route. Calgary Transit is the reliable source for current service. Its station and route maps show the options around Blackfoot Trail SE and 42 Avenue SE.
For general notes on reaching the city's casinos by train and bus, see Without a car.
Before you go
Alberta law bans smoking and vaping in enclosed public places and workplaces, and within 5 metres of doorways, opening windows and air intakes. The venue has not published a patio or smoking-area policy.
It helps to set a time and spending limit before arriving, and to keep to it. Each Alberta casino has a GameSense Info Centre with information on games and odds; more is at gamesenseab.ca.
