Where and when
ACE Casino Airport is at 40 Aero Crescent NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6W5. It sits off Deerfoot Trail and Airport Trail, next to the Clique Hotel. The venue describes itself as near YYC, the Calgary International Airport. It has no hotel of its own.
The casino's contact page publishes these hours:
| Days | Casino hours |
|---|---|
| Sunday to Thursday | 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM |
| Friday and Saturday | Open 24 hours |
| Poker room | Open 24/7 |
One section of the casino's homepage lists Sunday as a 24-hour day, so the official site does not fully agree with itself. If a Sunday visit depends on it, call 403-287-1183 before setting out.
On weekdays the doors open at 9:00 AM, so a morning or lunch-hour visit fits easily. The official pages do not publish separate hours for the live table games. If you want a table at a particular hour, ask the venue first. For more on early visits, see Morning hours.
Getting in
You must be 18 or older to enter a casino in Alberta. Under AGLC's casino rules, staff must check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. Bring a driver's licence, passport or government ID card, and keep it with you.
The venue does not publish a dress code.
On the floor
The casino lists the following:
- Over 650 slot machines, plus 20 VLTs
- 33 table games and 2 VIP salons
- A 12-table poker room, open 24/7
- Arena-style electronic gaming (the specific games are not listed)
The official site does not list which live table games are offered.
The venue has its own loyalty card, available at Guest Services. According to the casino, points are collected from playing and dining and go toward rewards. The program's name is not stated on the pages consulted for this guide.
Every casino in Alberta has a GameSense Info Centre with information on games, odds and house edge. You can ask there how a game works before you sit down.
Food and extras
The casino names four food and drink outlets:
- The Kitchen, a restaurant
- The Buffet, a quick-service counter with daily food specials
- ACE Sports Bar, with a 40-foot wall of televisions
- Center Bar
Opening hours for each outlet are not published on the official pages. The casino lists its current specials on its food and drink page. If lunch is part of the plan, check there or call ahead.
The venue also has a multi-purpose room for private gatherings and live music events. It does not publish an events schedule.
Getting there
By car, the casino lists more than 800 parking stalls. It does not say whether parking is free.
Neither the venue nor Calgary Transit publishes a transit route to this address. Before relying on a bus, use Calgary Transit's station and route maps to plan the trip. General notes on reaching casinos without a car are in Without a car.
The casino is close to the airport, but it publishes no airport directions or shuttle.
Alberta law bars smoking and vaping in enclosed public places and within 5 metres of their doorways. The venue publishes no policy of its own on smoking areas.
Before you go
- Check Sunday hours by phone, since the official site gives two versions.
- Ask about table-game hours if you plan to arrive at opening.
- Bring government-issued photo ID.
- Decide on a time limit and a spending limit before you go in, and leave the bank card at home if that helps.
